Big snows expected...
I have been following this storm from afar since last weekend. Lots of folks were hoping that this storm would turn into something. Since I this had been on my radar, I guess I haven't followed it as closely recently, so I am amazed at what a white circus that this has turned into!
Amazingly, I have been asked the following question a ton.
Question: Will Berkshire East close because of the snow?
Me: Umm. (mind racing, wondering why this is the 30th person who has asked a ski area owner who loves to ski powder whether he would close the mountain) No.
Anyway, I sure you have seen Stephanie Abrams, and Jim Cantore and all the talking heads on the weather channel, and you know we are in the 18-24" inch category. There is not much I can do here to tell you more about the risks (real or imagined) associated with this storm.
What I can say is "enjoy it." This is New England. The skiing should be epic. We have a phenomenal base and the skiing is already fantastic. If we get the two feet, I will be out of adjectives to describe what the skiing will be like; the only suitable expression will be on the mountain itself.
